I avoid that all together by owning the unstoppable beast--the Wii! All you Wii haters will be clambering for one in the next year or so. There are a lot of good Wii exclusive games coming. For starters in a couple of weeks The Conduit gets released and trust me the game looks and plays bad-ass! Any of you lucky souls that got to play Ninja Gaiden for the original XBox can look forward to Metroid: Other M--produced by the very same production team--Team Ninja. It's going to rock our socks off! Here's the E3 2009 trailer for it:

Red ring of death has an extended warranty on it if thats the case...they will repair it for you for free...they did for mine anyways ...as for the wii at E3 they showed project Natal for the 360...looks pretty impressive to me

The Wii is Nintendo's current generation gaming platform or otherwise known as console. Instead of the traditional form of control (stationary controller with numerous buttons to control various actions), most Wii games utilize its motion sensor Wii remote which looks very similar to a TV remote. By pointing the Wii remote towards the screen (and in conjunction with the IR (InfraRed) sensor), movement is translated so that you can control the cursor/pointer/reticule on screen. Personally I love playing Wii games. Over the last year it has lacked "hard-core" games, but the next couple of years are set to make up for that. There are a plethora of games for the system so everyone can find games that they like. It lacks in the graphics department when compared to the XBox 360 or PS3, but it makes up for it with fun and innovation. I feel sorry for those that discount the system solely based on the fact that Nintendo has geared it towards the masses--there are plenty of games for the "hard-core" gamers if they care to look (and plenty more in the pipe-line).

I would also purchase a 360 if I had the money, but it doesn't look like it is going to happen anytime soon (if ever).
